Tips for photography?

chocolatehugsandkisses asked:

I don’t have an expensive “professional” camera (cause I’m only 14 and I don’t feel like I really need one) but I really want to get into photography. What one would call amateur photography. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on photography with a digital camera. Maybe like what I could take pictures of and some editing tips. Anything you could give me would be great!

Thanks to all who can help!

Spend a lot of time learning to compose your images in the camera and do not fall into the bad habit of having to “fix” your images using a photo program.

Here is a link to help you with your composition.

I suggest reading Scott Kelby’s books on digital photography.

It might not seem like a fun idea but he’s an excellent and very well-known author who writes very well and adds quite alot of humour in his books.

Other than that, take many pictures and ask yourself what makes a picture interesting. Look at other pictures for inspiration.
