I think pick your picture that shows the most talent, maybe one that was harder to shoot, or one that by luck just turned out really great, and put that in the very front. Then the next few pages, have more of your very best ones. Next, put some that are not so impressionable, and on each of these tell how you took the picture, what kind of lighting, camera, lens–set up a format like this or similar:
Camera: _______
Lens: ______
Lighting:______
and so on,……. and do this under each picture, below that, write a sentence or so on what was unique about this picture, what you may have learned about photograpy by taking this picture.
End the portfolio by placing some more of your best work, so the best is at the beginning and some in middle and some at end, with the not so great sandwiched in the middle with some good ones.
Keep the same format for what you say below the pictures, on all the pictures. Good luck!

Say nothing except what the photos are and maybe why you took them. real real short. Let your images speak for themselves. above all do not defend or make excuses. Close your mouth open your ears and see if folks understand what your trying to say. Aloha

Your portfolio is either good, bad or indifferent based on the quality of images in it.

If your images are exceptional, then there should be very little to say about them. The viewer should be able to gain everything they need to know just by looking.
