Any photography tips?

asked:

I’m not a pro, not even close. It’s just something I really love to do, photography. I haven’t even taken it in school yet, I’m taking it next quarter. So I was just wondering if you would give me some constructive criticism. I would really appreciate it. http://ultrablue-love.deviantart.com/

Also, Just so you know, I don’t have a good camera, although hopefully for christmas I will be getting the nikon d90. At the moment, I have a fairly basic camera. Thanks again!
:)

Consider post shoot work. For instance the shot in your gallery of a close up of an eye is technically ok, but there is quite a lot of stray black bits of make up stuff. That is easy enough to tidy up. Remember that pressing the shutter only gets you 50% of the way to the finished product. And ’sucker for love needs a different colour backdrop. And while I’m at it you don’t have to give them all a goofy name. Leave it up to the viewer to decide what its about.

Nice though. Very promising.

you’ve got a nice start for a beginner without any further knowledge of photography.
i think you should really start to learn how to refine your skills a bit more now because you defiantly have the potential.
my personal favourite place?
read the tutorials/articles about composition, iso, shutter speed and other features — it will definitely come in handy even having a small knowledge of how dslrs work before you get one for real. not to mention its best to actually know whats going on in your camera when you take your photo instead of just snapping away.

try experimenting with a little bit of LIGHT editing
i.e. a little two-toning, curves, etc.
over working a photo, especially at a starter stage will look horrible and amaturish.
– editing will never make a bad photo good
